A Little Inspiration

At Autism 2 Awesome, we believe that a little inspiration can make a world of difference and have included a little something that has inspired us in the hopes that it can do the same for you.
This month's inspiration centers around Stephen Wiltshire, an artist who was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Completely mute until around the age of eight, Wiltshire can now speak seven languages and perform extremely difficult calculations near-instantaneously. He is perhaps most famous for several cityscape panoramas he has drawn of major cities--Tokyo, Rome, London, Dubai, and more--entirely from memory. After short helicopter rides, Wiltshire is given a few days to complete these huge drawings (some measuring over ten meters) without the ability to look at any pictures of the city, relying only on his memory. His drawings are absolutely beautiful and astoundingly accurate.
We encourage you to visit Stephen Wiltshire's webpage to read his biography, detailing his life and accomplishments, as well as his videos section where you can see documentaries about his amazing drawings. |
What To Do If You Suspect Your Child May Have An Autistic Disorder?
And more importantly, what materials should you collect t o give to your doctor to help for an accurate diagnosis? For the good of your child, if you suspect your child may have a developmental disorder, talk to your doctor's primary health care provider.
See video of Max Wiznitzer, M.D. answering these questions at ABC News.
